Scarbantia Archaeological Park

Sopron

The Scarbantia archaeological park was established based on archaeological excavations conducted in the 1970s and 1980s. In the midst of the ruins, researchers found a typical urban road from the second century, which already had drainage solutions in place. On the northern side of the road, Roman-era houses were uncovered, one of which had underfloor heating in one of its living quarters. Adjacent to the building, there is a bronze workshop.

Located near the Main Square and the Fire Tower, the archaeological park offers excellent recreation for history enthusiasts. However, it's also a must-visit for those who simply wish to take a pleasant and active stroll through the city center of Sopron.
